In-Service Call or Inquiry Procedure

When a call, email or other correspondence is received from a customer or aircraft service facility about an in-service issue on a CiES TSO product, the following procedure is to be followed:

  • Ask if the situation is a safety of flight or if safety of flight has been compromised by the problem.
    • If the Answer is YES – Indicate that you or the respondent will fill out the form on the In-Service Difficulty web page. Let them know a report will be filed with the FAA.
    • If the answer is NO – Please request that the form be filled out, if they are unable or reluctant, please fill out the form yourself.
  • Ask if fuel has been leaked.
    • If the Answer is YES – Indicate that you or the respondent will fill out the form on the In-Service Difficulty web page. Ask them to a picture of the leakage condition and send it to your email. Let them know a report will be filed with the FAA.
    • If the answer is NO – Please request that the form be filled out, if they are unable or reluctant, please fill out the form yourself.
  • Ask what other issues they are experiencing.
    • Record the information in the comments section of the form.
  • When the form is complete, an email is sent to your supervisor who will contact the FAA if required.  Please forward all pictures or data received from the respondent to scott.philiben@ciescorp.com.
